The 586 page 8 1/2" x 11" softcover catalog lists, pictures and prices thousands of "coins", rebel issues, pretender coins, fantasy issues, experimental Euro and Ecu coins, medieval fair coins, un-authorized coins, bullion pieces, coins of micro-nations, pseudo-states, and unrecognized states, as well as other odd and novelty issues. An excellent book listing and pricing Japanese coins and currency from ancient times to the present, including WWII Occupation issues for China and Japanese Invasion Money. OLD COINS OF CHINA by Holger Jorgensen. A small but complete identification guide for Chinese cash coins from 600BC to 1912AD. Best book if you just want to identify Chinese Cash coins by emperor withoug going into varieties. I use it a lot in conjunction with Schjoth and Fisher's Ding as it is a lot easier than paging through the two larger references. Reprint. 26 pages and plates. ($5 retail price) $4.00

EMERGENCY MONEY, NOTGELD, TOKENS, ETC.

EMERGENCY COINS OF GERMANY by R. Upton & Emergency Money Society. Good catalog of German Notgeld coins (1915-1923), including municipal, porcelain, transportation, and POW and private issues. Provides descriptions and values but needs more illustrations. Values are outdated but they are a good indication of relative scarcity. Gives standard "U" numbers. 200 pages $15.00

CATALOG OF GERMAN WAR TOKENS. by Robert Lamb. A good standard English language reference book on German Municipal Notgeld coins from 1914-1923. Published in 1966 it is long out-of-print, but is still one of the best English language references available.. Narrower in scope than the Upton book (it only includes municipal issues) but well illustrated, so easier to use. Prices are badly outdated (multiply by 10 for estimate of current prices). 143 pages. $15.00

LATIN AMERICAN TOKENS by Russel Rulau. Expanded 2nd Edition. Covers tokens issued from 1700 to 1920 for Mexico, Central and South America and 1700 to 1960 in the West Indies. Includes retail prices and thousands of photographs. 479 pages, softcover (List Price $37.95) $34.00

A CHECKLIST OF POPULAR ISLAMIC COINS 1st edition, by Stephen Album. A listing of Islamic coins by dynasty with rarity ratings and bibliography. Unfortunately no pictures. 68 pages, soft cover.
